Meant to Live for So Much More
    Series: Standalone
Whether we realize it or not, we all have a purpose and we all give our lives to something. But do we settle for less than God has for us? When we know our purpose, all of our day-to-day decisions are pretty easy to figure out. And we actually all have the same purpose: to go and make disciples of all nations. We may have different jobs, educational pursuits, family responsibilities, life situations, etc., but these serve as our platforms for carrying out our primary purpose of making disciples.

The Free Gift that Costs Everything
    Series: Standalone
In a message for the Memorial Day holiday, Troy shares about “The Free Gift That Costs Everything.” We want to honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military, who gave their very lives to secure, and to preserve, our freedom as Americans. That was a free gift to all of us who are still here to enjoy what they made possible, but it’s really not free; it cost everything to those who gave their lives. And there’s another gift that’s free to us, but really isn’t free. It cost Jesus everything, and if we decide to follow Him, it will cost us everything.

    Don’t Forget About the Loaves
    Series: Standalone
Mark Thometz, who grew up in our church and youth group, and is now preaching in southern California, presents a message reminding us of God’s power and the fact that we can invite that power into our lives through prayer. If Jesus can turn two fish and five small loaves of bread into a hearty meal for thousands of people, He can certainly give us the strength we need to endure the storms of our lives. We just can’t forget about the loaves.

The Hardest Job You’ll Ever Love
    Series: Standalone
For Mother's Day, we remember that being a mom is so tough, and so awesome. Moms can relate to the idea that motherhood is “The Hardest Job You’ll Ever Love.” On the other hand, we want to honor mothers without alienating others who may not be moms, perhaps by choice, but also due to life circumstances. Something we can all remember are the attributes of moms that are also character qualities of God, including comfort, security, healing, sacrifice, training, and faith.

    If There Were No Christmas
    Series: Standalone
For our lead-in to Christmas, Troy asks us to imagine what our lives would be like if there were no Christmas. The world would have some serious deficiencies if Jesus had never been born, but ultimately a life without Christmas would mean a God who broke His promises. Thankfully, that's not the case and God sent His Son to be born, to live a perfect life, and to die a terrible death on the cross to take on the punishment that we deserved.

    Refocusing the Church
    Series: Standalone
(Note: This recording picks up a few minutes into the message.) For our Mission Sunday, Salonique Adolphe, the director (and one of the founders) of Living Water Christian Mission in Gonaives, Haiti encourages us to refocus our efforts as a church and achieve our primary objective of seeking and saving the lost. Each one of us is called to go into our city, our country, and our world to make disciples of all nations. And when we go, Jesus promises to be with us always, even to the end of the age.

    By the Way, Thank You!
    Series: Standalone
In Luke chapter 17, we read the account of Jesus healing 10 men who had leprosy. Jesus instructs them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests,” and as they went, they were cleansed. What’s interesting is that when Jesus sent them off to see the priests, these men were no better off than they had been ten minutes earlier, and yet, they headed off in search of the priests. God placed a demand on them (and on us today) to have faith, before anything at all has changed.

In today’s message, Troy considers his growing anticipation and excitement for the next time his son returns home from college, and connects it to his growing excitement for the day he gets to see God’s Son, Jesus, when he’s in Heaven and in the presence of his Savior.
