Unity that Can Save the World
By: Troy Burns
Series: What if God Was One of Us?
Have you ever gone to God in fervent prayer, perhaps when one of your loved ones faced a potentially life-threatening or life-altering situation? Did you beg and plead with God for healing because you were so worried and scared? That's a natural response, but as we see in John chapter 17, Jesus knew for a fact that He was approaching the time of His death, yet He did not ask God to rescue Him and spare Him from death. Instead, He focused on God's mission and He prayed for other people much more than Himself.

He took the punishment that we deserved and put it on Himself. And it’s critical that we understand the love and grace that God has shown us, despite our brokenness, because we need to show love and grace to other people, despite their brokenness.
