Junior Camp! Nationwide Youth Roundup (NYR)! Senior Camp! All three of these events were life changing, "mountaintop" experiences in which many of our young people participated from late July through mid-August. These summer camps provided unique times when the normal influences of life in the world were greatly reduced. In part because of these events, several young people from the Northwest were baptized into Christ and many others, who were already Christians, made new commitments and decisions that will keep their fires burning and draw them closer to the Savior.

At these times, when we climb down from the mountaintop to "real" life, including another new school year, I often think of the Third Day song, "Show Me Your Glory." After talking about an incredible, personal experience with God, the song says this:

When I climb down the mountain
And get back to my life
I won't settle for ordinary things
I'm gonna follow You forever
And for all of my days
I won't rest 'til I see You again.

My prayer is that while our young people can't always live on the mountaintop, they will stay high on the hill, living out a vibrant, daily relationship with our Creator.
