6/19/2008 - Entering into summertime fills my mind with wonderful memories of sleeping in, going swimming and biking, playing baseball, staying up too late, and then doing it all again the next day. As much fun as I had, though, I must admit a serious disconnecting from the normal routines and responsibilities that kept me accountable, focused, and busy doing something important with my time. Our teens are heading into their summer breaks and face the challenge of staying connected to God and other Christians while their schedules allow for much free time and relaxation. My prayer is for our young people to remember that God is with them wherever they go, not just in obvious settings such as Clear Lake Camp or New Life Northwest, but also at work and at play and, yes, even at rest. May God bless our students as they enjoy a well deserved break from a busy school year.
